Students will prepare the same scenes for both stage and screen, learning to calibrate their performance for each medium while deepening their work by finding their character’s actions, objectives and relationship to the arc of the scene.
Take NBC’s One Chicago franchise is filled with heavy, dramatic scenes that require an actor to be immediately present in the middle of a highly charged scene. Learn how to “get there” when needed and “stay there” when required.
Prerequisite: Instructor or Studio approval
In this indispensable, newly-devised class, students will work with 3 top Chicago Musical Theatre professionals who bring years of expertise helping the actor understand what happens in front of and behind the table. From audition book creation, communicating with the accompanist, song repertoire and acting through song, students will develop the ability to shape a custom audition to ensure they get noticed. The program culminates in a presentation for faculty, friends and classmates.
