Whether you’re preparing for a college or professional audition, the ability to showcase your acting range is crucial & many auditions require you to perform two contrasting monologues. But how do you know which monologues to use? In this 6-week class, you will work on contrasting monologues – be it comedic & dramatic or contemporary & classical – that best fit you & your audition repertoire. Students will leave with two different, performance-ready monologues that help set them apart in the room.
This essential skills class for returning on camera students will provide a more in-depth, tactile approach to auditioning on screen. Working from TV & film scripts in our professional studio, students learn the techniques required of an actor to be immediately present in the middle of a highly charged scene – comedic or dramatic. Class is taught by Chicago actress, Sara Sevigny (Rogers Park, Empire), & has students analyzing their work as it is played back each week.
