James Whittington is a theatre teacher and director. For more than 22 years he’s educated hundreds of young performers and directed dozens of critically acclaimed productions. As he likes to say it, “I make art out of people.” James is a faculty member for the training center of the Second City, where he teaches comedy writing, improvisation, and acting. He is a graduate of the Directing Program at the Second City and holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre and directing from the University of Florida. He has also studied and performed at several of Chicago’s prestigious institutions, including the Second City, the iO Theatre and the Annoyance Theatre.
