In this class, students will discuss the strength and beauty that comes from developing and polishing the uniqueness that is YOU. Highlighting students strengths to pull forward, and identifying what needs work. As cliché as it may sound, the very thing that makes you different is your power. Students will learn to own their artistry and honing their gifts. Many institutions that specialize in performance don't teach branding/marketing for the performer, this course will bring forth positive awareness to what can be a very daunting feat.

Participants will bring a monologue that speaks true the their personal identities. Jos will work with students on the piece to truly highlight their personalities and strengths as a performer. A safe place will be created for open critiques and exploring conversations with the group about vulnerability and the POWER that comes along with it. Ending the day with a Q&A with Jos himself.
Jos N. Banks is Chicago native professional visual/performing artist, costume designer, director & more. He is best know for his role as LOLA in the 2017/18 International Tour of Kinky Boots.
Do not miss this incredible opportunity to study virtually with the prodigious Cindy Gold. Learn about all aspects of the industry including agents, casting, unions and how different cities function as locations for actors. Actors will be required to search for audition monologues, and participate in on camera auditions.
Each student will need to create a set up at home for best possible taping practices. This is a lecture/discussion course, but it requires full, physical participation.
Cindy is a tenured professor at Northwestern University and a successful actress who has been on stage at the Kennedy Center, Lyric Opera Chicago, The Goodman Theatre, Broadway in Chicago and Dury Lane. Cindy can also be seen on television on EMPIRE, CHICAGO FIRE AND LEVERAGE.
