A program to help high school seniors and their families navigate and prepare for drama and musical theatre college auditions. Space is limited. Class begins August 18, 2019.
Wilmette, IL --- Drama and musical theatre college programs have become increasingly competitive; in some instances accepting only ten applicants per year. Being prepared will give students a competitive edge; however, parents and students struggle to find a program or class that is specific to training for college entrance auditions. To fill that gap, Actors Training Center (ATC) is introducing a new program this fall called
THE ATC COLLEGE AUDITION CLINIC.
THE ATC COLLEGE AUDITION CLINIC will aid, support and empower students and their parents in their quest for refining their college search and ensuring the best possible outcome in the audition process. The clinic will take the stress and worry away from parents while giving the students the skills and confidence needed for success.
"Over the past 11 years, I have seen the stress the college process puts on the parents and applicants as competition and demands have increased dramatically. My teachers and I decided that the time is now for a professional process-driven clinic that guides and supports the student and their parents,” said Carole Dibo, ATC Founder.
THE ATC COLLEGE AUDITION CLINIC INCLUDES:
ACTING TRACK: ($2,200)
· Professional Headshot Session
· Resume Assistance
· Classical Monologue
· 2 Contrasting Contemporary Monologues
· Intro to Movement Training & Shurtleff Technique
· Support at Unifieds
· Private Coaching & Taping Assistance (4 Hours)
MUSICAL THEATRE ADD-ON: (additional $650)
· Two contrasting 32-bar selections
· "How to Nail A Dance Call"
· Vocal Coaching
"Because of the customized college coaching provided by Carole and Adam at ATC, my daughter was incredibly prepared for her college pre-screens and auditions. From selecting monologues, coaching and then re-enacting actual college audition scenarios, they helped make that part of the college process fun and stress-free,” said Tracy Martin, ATC parent. “We absolutely attribute her acceptances to 5 BFA programs and 6 BA programs to her training at ATC through the years and the college coaching she received. She is thrilled with her choices!”
Industry professionals Leah Raidt, Mike Theisen and Adam Goldstein will teach the program.
“Starting a college prep program has been a long time dream of mine. I have yet to encounter a time in my adult life that matches the level of stress, anxiety, and passion I felt as a high-school senior preparing for college. I look forward to using my gifts as a teacher, mentor, and professional actor to aid and support students and parents toward empowered college choices. THE ATC COLLEGE AUDITION CLINIC guarantees you will not be alone in this journey,” Leah Raidt.
"One of the most challenging and exciting choices I have made in my life was deciding to commit my post-secondary education to the craft of acting. Navigating the ramifications of that choice was entirely overwhelming for my family and me. A program such as THE ATC COLLEGE AUDITION CLINIC catered specifically to individuals who have made the same choice that I did would have without a doubt proven to be invaluable. Having since worked professionally as a talent agent, acting instructor, and coach, I cannot emphasize enough the value of committed training - not only with the goal of getting accepted into a college program, but also to prepare for the realities of the professional acting landscape,” Mike Theisen.
