"I Am The Bear" by Jerrell Henderson

We'd like to give a big congratulatory shoutout to ATC Instructor, Jerrell Henderson for the debut of his production: "I Am The Bear"--a personal story about his experience being racial profiled by police on Chicago’s North Shore. It was originally developed as a monologue for the stage but was filmed for the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival. Congrats, Jerrell--we're so proud to have you in the ATC Family!

Jerrell L. Henderson: "So many times, the situations that I find myself in because I happen to be Black, I’m not sure if it’s reality or if it’s just in my own mind. So when pieces like this are created, then other people say ‘No, you’re not crazy.’ These things happen. You’re not alone."
